August 2017 – Avian Brands at Tidung Festival 2017 presented a series of events more engaging than previous years. With hundreds of kilograms of paint from Avian Brands, the residents of Tidung Island were ready to participate in the boat creation competition and homestay color creation competition. These creations are expected to be a unique attraction for tourists. Officially opened by the Regent of Kepulauan Seribu (Thousand Islands), Drs. H. Irmansyah, M.Sc., together with the Special Staff for Multicultural Affairs of the Ministry of Tourism, Dr. Hari Untoro Derajat, M.A, and attended by the Assistant Head of the Cultural Department of DKI Jakarta Province, Usmayadi, as well as the Assistant Head of the Tourism Department of DKI Jakarta Province, Eldi Andi, this event targeted 10,000 tourists to participate in activities held on August 19-20, 2017.

Tidung Festival was held at Jembatan Cinta (Love Bridge) coinciding with the 72nd Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, in order to enhance tourism programs in the Thousand Islands. Besides showcasing the beauty of its natural attractions, Tidung Island will be more appealing with a touch of color on its various supporting facilities, making it a preferred tourist destination for both local and foreign visitors.

For this purpose, Avian Brands provided 375 kg of Avian Wood and Iron Paint for the creation competition of 30 boats and 500 kg of Avitex Wall Paint for the color creation competition of 40 homestays. The competitions started on August 16, 2017, and 3 winners will be chosen for each category. The main goal of this activity is to invite the residents of Tidung Island to give new colors to their boats and homestay residences, so they can become icons of Tidung Island and also become photo objects for tourists.

More than just support, Avian Brands hopes that Tidung Festival can represent the diversity of Indonesian culture, arts, and natural beauty that has the potential to attract international tourists, thereby introducing Indonesia as a cultural tourism destination at an international level. Novi Christiana added, “The presence of colorful nuances will provide a diverse atmosphere with various festivals and competitions available at Tidung Festival. Thus, Tidung Island can become more vibrant and have a positive impact on the tourism sector and improve the economy of the Thousand Islands,” she concluded.

In addition to a diverse series of festivals, including Music Festival, Cultural Festival, Traditional Games Festival, Culinary Festival, residents and tourists were also treated to various competitions and environmental care activities such as planting 10,000 mangrove seedlings and beach clean-up efforts. A variety of unique creative competitions also enlivened the Tidung Festival activities, namely cooking competition, vlog and selfie competition, photography competition, Betawi dance competition, traditional games competition, homestay mural competition, boat creation competition, and decorated bicycle parade.
