July 2018 – Used or unused items are often overlooked and end up in storage or even thrown away. However, with a little touch of creativity, many used items can be repurposed and be useful for daily needs. To maximize the use of used items, Avian Brands invites the public to participate in the #JadiBaruLagi Movement.
“The #JadiBaruLagi Movement is an action to make used items useful again. We support the community to be more creative and productive in producing daily necessities without having to buy them, but by making them.”, explained Mely Yanti, Marketing Manager of Avian Brands. “Thus, the creative economy sector can also grow along with the creative development of the community.”, she added.
Sukabumi is an area with a fairly good contribution to the creative economy. For this reason, Avian Brands collaborated with the Sukabumi Home Décor Lovers community in the re-use and up-cycle movement for used items. This activity is expected to inspire the community in maximizing the function of used items.
Shelvie, an administrator of the Sukabumi Home Décor Lovers (HDL) community, strongly supports the movement organized by Avian Brands, “Used items can be re-used by simply rejuvenating them, such as painting them with a new color to make them look fresher, or even up-cycling them, so there is a change and improvement to a better function.”. The Sukabumi HDL community chose soft colors with a touch of bright hues to give a gentle yet firm impression, as a representation of Indonesian women. In addition to the varied colors that make items look new again, using Avian Wood and Metal Paint in creations is also quite easy and dries quickly. With high-quality pure synthetic resin, the color lasts long and the paint does not easily peel.
The HDL community is a home décor enthusiast community that actively shares home décor inspiration, from wall painting, room arrangement, to furniture selection on Instagram social media (@homedecorlovers_). This community covers almost all regions of Indonesia with over 65 thousand followers.
“We hope that our movement in Sukabumi can be an inspiration for the wider community to participate in creation and be able to encourage the development of the creative economy sector in Sukabumi and throughout Indonesia.”, concluded Mely.
